Pricing & Insurance

Pricing for the Metabolic Reset program depends on whether your insurance plan will cover nutritional counseling.

Insurance Coverage for Nutrition Therapy

Most insurance carriers in the state of Washington cover medical nutrition therapy (MNT) or dietary surveillance when performed by a registered dietitian nutritionist (RDN) or a certified nutritionist (CN). However, it is important to know exactly what your insurance covers. Some insurance companies might cover nutrition visits entirely, some may offer a discount with copay, and some may cover nutrition therapy if it’s for certain medical conditions. For this reason, we strongly suggest that you contact your insurance provider to understand your benefits.

Helpful tips for understanding your nutrition coverage:

  1. Call your insurance carrier, go online to their website, or email your insurance provider to find out what coverage they offer for nutrition within the areas of “wellness” or “dietary surveillance” as well as for MNT.

★ Ask if you have a deductible to meet, and if you have a copay for visits.
★ Find out the differences between your “in-network” and “out-of-network” coverage.
★ Be sure to ask how many sessions your plan offers per year.
★ Confirm when your policy year begins—this may differ from the start of the calendar year.

  1. Ask about nutrition coverage for other conditions you may have (e.g. diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, kidney and/or heart problems).

★ Some medical conditions will be treated concurrent to weight loss, so nutrition therapy for that medical condition may be covered by insurance when weight loss is not.

  1. Need a referral? Some health plans will cover nutrition therapy if your physician recommends it due to a current health condition like diabetes or heart disease.

★ Call your doctor to see if you can get a referral for a registered dietitian or a certified nutritionist.
